Riverside Family Medicine is a Direct Primary Care practice in upstate New York, founded in 2025 by Dr. Colt St. Amand, a psychologist and family medicine physician who set out to build the kind of practice he had spent years wishing existed. The goal was simple and stubborn: wholistic*, accessible, patient centered primary care with behavioral health built into it rather than bolted on.

He came to it honestly. His father was a psychologist and his mother a gynecologist, both running their own private practices in a small Texas town, and he grew up watching what it looks like when a doctor knows the whole family and sticks around for the long haul. His own training sits right at the meeting point of mental health and medicine, and that shapes how every visit here goes.

We care for individuals and families of all ages located anywhere in New York State, in person in central upstate New York or by telemedicine. Dr. Colt is also licensed in Texas and Minnesota, so patients physically located in those states at the time of their visit can be seen by telehealth as well.

Because we use the Direct Primary Care model, we do not bill insurance. That means longer visits, shorter waits, transparent pricing, and direct access to your doctor. It also means your private health information stays private, because there is no third party asking us to hand it over. At Riverside Family Medicine you are an important patient, never a number and never just another file.
