Injectable PrEP
Protection that does not depend on remembering
Daily PrEP works, and it works well, but only if the pill actually gets taken. For plenty of people that is the hard part. A schedule that shifts, a bottle you would rather not leave on the counter, a roommate or a family member you are not out to. Injectable PrEP takes all of that off the table.
It is one injection given here in the office, repeated every two months after the first couple of doses. Between visits there is nothing to carry, nothing to hide, and nothing to remember.
What getting started looks like
We start with a conversation and a round of lab work, including an HIV test, since injectable PrEP is for people who are HIV negative. If your labs are clear, you get your first injection, a second one a month later, and then settle into a shot every two months.
The visits are short, but you are not being processed. Same practice, same clinician, same amount of time to ask whatever you want to ask. Dr. Colt has spent his career in sexual and gender health, so nothing you bring up here is going to be met with a raised eyebrow or a question about why.
